With a Masters in Advertising and Bachelors in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas at Austin, Freddie Rodriguez aka freddie beat loves entertainment and pop culture. His Panamanian heritage and Northeast El Paso, Texas-upbringing speak to his personal mantra, individuality trumps conformity every time.
He considers himself a Creative Dabbler, having put on different creative hats through the years because of these eclectic interests.
His most recent creative incarnation was that of music blogger. Under this hat, he created and produced the Austin, Texas music blogazine, THE REAL popolio, which ran from September 15, 2008 through November 27, 2011.
During this time, he also contributed interviews to two other Austin-based sites and produced a music site for an independent entertainment company in Puerto Rico (formerly New York City), that he ran like a weekly column.
As a Creative Dabbler, he’s managed a hip hop dance crew, founded a slam poetry organization, and spearheaded arts programming for a higher education academic center. He’s left-handed and has always wanted to be a superhero.
Not only to be a superhero, though, but to write superhero comics. This is why he created Cartwheel Group 3 Comics. To collaborate with other aspiring superhero comic creators and create and publish that work online.
