Another old school theme song.
Before the movie and its upcoming sequel, there was the TV show in the late ’80s, early ’90s. These are the opening credits to Season 3 of 21 Jump Street. The theme song was sung by cast member, Holly Robinson, known as Holly Robinson-Peete in more modern times. The show was on the air for 5 seasons.
One of my favorite movies of all-time. Not quite a super hero movie, but it does read like a graphic novel and the main character does go through a transformation akin to going from secret identity to super hero identity. In the process, she becomes a bigger than life personality. Great song by Pat Benatar, too. I’m surprised this film isn’t more of a cult hit and doesn’t have more of a following. Or maybe I’m wrong. Any other fellow the Legend of Billie Jean fans out there like me?
Had to go with an oldie, but goody this week. We’re kickin’ it old school with “the NeverEnding Story” from the NeverEnding Story by Limahl. Had never heard of Limahl, but I know the song. Always loved it as a child and the film, too, of course. It’s so catchy and addictive. Quite an ear worm this one. Limahl was an English pop singer from the group Kajagoogoo. That name I do remember, but I couldn’t name any of their songs. Apparently, there was an English and a French version (“L’histoire sans fin”) of the song featuring a different female vocalist on each.
