Artists Che Willams and Orion Vang have both decided to pursue other opportunities. So, neither artist will be continuing work on any Cartwheel Group 3 Comics. We wish them luck on their future endeavors.
Williams was assigned to the story of Trinity featuring characters Reckless Abandon, Mongrel, and Soul Weaver. Thanks to him for at least completing the character design for Reckless Abandon. That leaves the character designs for Mongrel and Soul Weaver to be completed.
Vang was assigned to Fame & Fortune and got through some sketches of one of the supporting cast members, Juan Perez. His sketches will at least provide a springboard for a future artist to bounce off of.
Replacement artists for these stories have not been secured at this time, but because of our one-stand-alone-story-a-month model, we are always open to new artists who may be interested in working on a Cartwheel Group 3 Comics project. If interested, please email Cartwheel Group 3 Comics at email@example.com.
Fame & Fortune is the project that is currently in production at CG3. Since it is in process, we thought we’d share some sketches of character designs Orion Vang has been working for one of the cast members of Fame & Fortune. His name is Juan Perez.
Happy International Women’s Day from Cartwheel Group 3 Comics! Reckless Abandon is the first and only CG3 character to be teased so far. We hope to instill her future characterization with the intelligence, strength, compassion, and complexity of women all over the world.
Remember this tease? Here’s a little more on this concept. It’s called Polka Dots & Plaid, which refers to the two main characters. It draws on What Not To Wear, the idea of being reprogrammed, black holes, and alternate lives.
This is a sketch (character design) of suit [the colors may change] to be worn by Mongrel. He’s a shape-shifting laboratory-made “monster” character (who maybe used to be a man or maybe not) that may be featured in a forthcoming story. He had a head and tentacles, but his color and tentacles started reminding me a little too much of Zoidberg from Futurama. So, back to the drawing board on that!
Remember this? This is the color version of the B&W sketch (character design) of Reckless Abandon presented previously. To remind you, she’s a vampire character that may be featured in a forthcoming story. She’s not quite finalized, yet, but we’re getting there. What do you think of her look so far?
